Deer have significant roles in the mythology of various peoples.

Manitoba Hunting

The name “Manitoba” (“great spirit”) is believed to be derived from the Cree, Ojibwe or Assiniboine languages.

Greetings From Tennessee

We got married in a fever, hotter than a pepper sprout,
We’ve been talkin’ ’bout Jackson, ever since the fire went out.
I’m goin’ to Jackson, I’m gonna mess around,
Yeah, I’m goin’ to Jackson,
Look out Jackson town.

Forestry Illustrations

My father was a Forester for Ontario Hydro (now called Hydro One) for 30 years. Before that he studied forestry at The University of New Brunswick. Over the holidays I was looking in the attic and found some of his old books from his school days. I found one from around 1968. Just thought I would share a couple of the beautiful, simple illustrations.
